Here at The Coach & Horses we have a very varied and extensive menu catering for all tastes. Soup of the day at £4.05 sits comfortably alongside Sweet Chilli Chicken Yakitori at £5.00, or even Goats Cheese Rosti at £4.95. These are just a few of the starters to get your taste buds tingling.

For main courses you are spoilt for choice - at least 29 different choices from our famous Knuckle of Lamb (£13.20) slow cooked until tender and served with a mint gravy, to a King Prawn Thai Red Curry(£10.25), an aromatic and spicy thai curry served with nan bread and jasmine rice. There is a vegetarian selection on the menu: Vegetable Tikka Masala (£8.70) and Asparagus & Gruyere Feuillete (£9.10) to name but two. Salads, Wraps, Baguettes and a kids menu with plenty of choice. A lot of the dishes are offered in smaller portions so even the smallest of appetites need not worry.

To add to all of this there is also the chef’s special board which changes daily and which offers some different and sometimes outlandish surprises!!! This is brought to the table giving you the opportunity to read and relax.

At The Coach & Horses we offer full table service with even the dessert trolley being wheeled to your table - we try our utmost to provide that extra special service. All the family are welcome and we have excellent disabled facilities.

Outside we have a large accessible car park with disabled only parking available as well as a superb alfresco dining area. Yes the garden is fantastic, a two tiered decked area, walk through loggia, central water feature and a fragrant Japanese herb garden, altogether the ideal place to enjoy summer dining. The non smoking decked area is complete with patio heaters ensuring lazy summer days turn into long summer nights. The perfect place to sip wine or relax with an after dinner coffee.

All in all, The Coach & Horses offers something for everyone, if you haven’t tried us give us a go…you’ll be glad you did.

NEW FOREST POST
WINE & DINE FEATURE
May 2008

A new season brings a new menu to The Coach & Horses at Cadnam. As the days grow longer and the temperature rises The Coach & Horses will be launching a new menu to improve on the already excellent reputation for choice, value for money and great home cooked, individually created food.

You can still find the good old favourites like ‘Deep filled potato skins’ or ‘The famous Knuckle of lamb’, Ham, Egg & Chips, Steak & Ale Pie amongst others, but new for the season and perhaps for the more adventurous there are dishes like New Forest Barramundi, steamed and served on a bed of oriental stir fried vegetables and noodles, or try the new Honey Soy Lamb, served with chilli and coriander sweet potato mash.

In fact after having a sneaky peaky at the new menu I can definitely say that there really is something for everyone. There is a larger fish selection, loads more vegetarian choices and overall 29 main courses to choose from, plus starters, baguettes, wraps, kiddies menu and oh yes the ‘Specials Board’ which is a menu in itself!!!! And there’s the amazing dessert trolley to tempt you. I think it would be a real challenge not to find something to your taste or budget.

What could be better than whiling away the hours on the large decked area, sipping your cooled drink, listening to the splashing of the water feature, trying to decide what to eat from so many yummy dishes and then when decided choosing a wine from the funky new wine menu to compliment your food.

If that’s not enough to keep you coming back for more, you can always apply for a discount card. There are two schemes running, one for the over 60s and one for the regular diner. The discount obtained is off the total bill including drinks when dining, who else gives you that kind of privilege?

The Coach & Horses is still one of the original remaining pub restaurants in the New Forest, it has been independently owned by Brian & Andrea Morrison over the past ten years. James & Tania Francis have been Landlord and landlady for seven of these years and their passion for great food and great service really has to be experienced.

So what are you waiting for, The Coach & Horses at Cadnam is definitely worth a visit, where great food and fantastic service await you.

Remember The Coach & Horses is open 7 days a week and food is served from 12 noon all through the afternoon until 9pm in the evening.
